A teacher's interview

          So about 2 weeks ago for an English assignment I was required to ask a professor or an experienced professional in our field about what it takes to be successful in the field, does English play a major factor in the field etc. click read more to read the interview

I asked my tech teacher and recorded his responses ( I will include later in this post) as well as a one page summary of material I gathered (next post)





XB:What made you want to study, explore and major in the computer field?

Mark Hammond:First year prof. made math fun and taught him how to program



XB:What was your first (computer related) job?

MH:Fiber optics job





XB:Was there any information that you were surprised that you needed to know about having a career in the computer field?

MH: No





XB:When did you finally feel confident about having a career in computers?

MH: The first 6 months




XB: Is there advice in particular, that you would give for any future, potential candidates for having a job in IS or IT?

MH:Have an open mind and explore


XB:Is there any important skills or talents future IT or IS professionals should have?

MH:Professional wise - Being able to listen to feedback
        Academic wise - Getting certification
        Personally - Knowing how to troubleshoot



XB:How does English and communication, play a role in a technological society?

MH:If you can't communicate how can you fix anything



XB:What is the best part of your job?

MH:Meeting new people

XB:How can future IT professionals feel secure about their career choice?

MH: Being knowledgeable
